Mental Health

The Counseling Center along with the McCoy College Student Success Center support the wellbeing and resiliency of students at TXST University. The McCoy Student Success Center host events in partnership with the Counseling at various points throughout the semester but encourages students to connect with the resources currently available. 

Financial Education

The McCoy Student Success Center provides Bobcats with opportunities to increase financial empowerment by increases their knowledge, awareness, and skills. We offer events throughout the semester and one-on-one appointments.

First-Gen

The McCoy family supports First-Gen students by partnering with our university First-Gen initiatives and providing resources for students to foster academic and personal success.

Hispanic Heritage Month

The McCoy College Student Success Center celebrates both Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Week and National Hispanic Heritage Month. Hispanic Serving Institutions are federally set forth in the Higher Education Act, which was first signed on our very own TXST campus by TXST alumnus Lyndon B. Johnson. 

Texas State University observes National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 – October 15 which celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans with Hispanic and Latinx ancestry from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. HSI Week is observed September 9-13th and Hispanic heritage month is also celebrated in the month of September.

Black History Month

Black History Month is celebrated annually in the United States from February 1 to February 28. McCoy College Student Success Center collaborates with the university efforts through Student Involvement and provides opportunities to honor our Black/African American students.
